WATCH Controlled Explosion Destroy Old Tappan Zee Bridge in New York

The 16,000-feet long bridge (3 miles, or 4.8 km) was built from 1952 to 1955 over the Hudson River at one of its widest points. It was replaced by the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, with all the traffic being shifted after its opening in 2017.
