Columbus Blue Jackets NHL Playoffs
Well I could not find last years thread, but since last year did not end well lets start a new one.
The playoffs started tonight, the best two months in hockey are ahead. Columbus has a very tough first round opponent in Tampa Bay who won 10 games more in the regular season than anyone else in the league and finished with the 3rd best regular season record ever. Right before the trade deadline, the Blue Jackets made a couple big moves and I heard a couple talking heads on TV saying the Jackets might be the only team with the pieces of the puzzle needed to compete with Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, the Blue Jackets struggled down the stretch finishing 8th in their division and barely making the playoffs.
I missed the first period tonight turning the game on at intermission to find the Blue Jackets down 3-0. I told my wife "this game is not worth watching", yet I watched. At the second intermission it was 3-1 Tampa Bay, but at least the Jackets looked more like an NHL team. Third period was a thing of beauty for our team. Final score 4-3 Blue Jackets, including a short handed goal as we killed off a 4 minute power play. Great start to the playoffs with a great comeback. Game 2 is Friday night!
