Mother’s Day emotions for A’s pitcher Mike Fiers following no-hitter

Oakland A’s pitcher Mike Fiers had hoped he could have started on Mother’s Day, five days after he no-hit the Reds. However, the A’s are giving Fiers an extra day of rest after he threw 131 pitches on Tuesday. Fiers realizes the extra day is a good idea but thought it would have been nice to pitch Sunday as a tribute to his mother, Linda Korman, who died of lupus in 2013.
