A mum-of-two has been banned from going out for four months after she attacked two bouncers and a police officer while drinking at a pub.

Kelly Brockley, 27, also racially abused a special constable during the incident, which took place at the Hem Heath in Stoke-on-Trent.

A violent incident that did not include Brockley had broken out just moments before, and security staff were alerted to a ‘victim on the floor receiving treatment’.

Brockley had crowded around the victim, causing two bouncers to remove her from the situation, magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard.

It was then that she ‘became abusive towards them’, prosecutor Liz Rider told the court.

She said Brockley kicked and punched the members of staff as they escorted her out of the pub and called the police.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested her, but she became ‘violent and abusive’ when taken to a police vehicle, Ms Rider said.

Brockley ‘kicked out’ and struck one officer and used a racially derogatory term to refer to another, the court heard.

She told a probation officer she that she’d been drinking vodka prior to the offence and could not remember what happened because she was drunk.

James Hulse, mitigating, said: ‘What’s key to her offending on this occasion is alcohol consumption.

‘She does not respond well when challenged, certainly by men.

‘When under the influence of alcohol she will pick and choose words she believes will cause the most offence.

‘On this occasion it was racially-aggravated. When she’s sober and lucid she wouldn’t dream of using those words.’

Brockley, of Urmston Place, Newstead, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating, one of assaulting an emergency worker and a further charge of racially-aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress.

She was handed an 18-month community order with a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a four-month curfew prohibiting her from going out between 9pm and 7am.

The court also ordered her to pay £50 compensation to the injured officer, £100 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
