Coventry is getting a huge new water park this month with six epic slides
COVENTRY’s new £36 million water park is to open later this month.
The new attraction features the largest wave pool in the UK swell as a number of slides and rides – and will be open in time for families this half term.
The Wave, which will open on October 21, has six new rides, one of which sends passengers shooting down the flume at 12mph.
Each slide has light and sound features as riders speed through the enclosed slide – for example, The Crestar features two giant spheres with lighting affects while The Cascade is full enclosed with large sections of coloured lights.
The scariest ride is called The Torrent – where the floor drops from beneath to plunge riders at speed.
Also inside the water park will be a lazy ricer and splash pads with jets.
The wave pool is also the biggest in the country.
Parents can grab drinks and snacks at the poolside cafe, and there are smaller slides for younger visitors.
The water park isn’t rides – it also has a fitness suite, dance studio, spinning studio and spa.
The park was meant to open this summer although faced delays.
They warn to book ahead when it first opens, as large volumes of people are expected.
Tickets start from £10.50 for adults and £9 for kids for a three-hour slot.
Coventry residents can get special discounts with a Go CV card.
