Which team are we?

0
I think it should be obvious to anybody that has been watching that this team is just not clicking on all cylinders. Yet, somehow they continue to win. As Herm Edwards would say, “You play to win the game... Hello. You play to win the game.” And that is exactly what they are doing. Nobody cared when the Patriots won the Super Bowl while only scoring 13 points. I think that is what you need to keep in mind.

We would all like double digit wins every time out, but this team just isn’t doing that recently. There are a number of reasons for that, but I think the lack of consistent scoring from the non-stars is a big part of that. Our three-point shooting depends on how these guys do and right now they are collectively in a slump. The fact that Landers and Mikesell are both struggling really makes it easier on the opposing defenses to pay more attention to Crutcher.

I am sure that Figgie could answer this better than me, but from 10,000 feet it appears that Crutcher is less offensive minded that just a month ago. His scoring comes in bursts and he seems to disappear during significant parts of the game. He needs to be a consistent threat to keep things open for Obi not just for one half of each game.

I believe the competition has something to do with the lack of decisive wins. This team continues to play to the level of competition and my guess is that they will do it again on Friday. The crowd will be loud and involved which will only add to the players drive. I think we will see an effort closer to what we saw in Maui.

In a lot of ways, the next three games will define our season. Will we get back to being the team that everyone marvels at with the amazing passing and shooting or will we drop one and enter the post season with more questions than answers? Stay tuned.
