Mark Magsayo's next bout set!
It's fair to say that 2020 has seen a number of hopefuls and contenders have had their climbs up the rankings slowed massively this year. One of those is unbeaten Filipino hopeful Mark Magsayo (20-0, 14), who signed with MP Promotions back in March. Coming in to the year the hope was for Magsayo to advance towards a world title fight through 2020 and be on the verge of a huge fight next year. Sadly however his career, like many others, has been on ice due to the on going global situation.
Now however multiple Filipino sites, including the reliable Philstar, are reporting that Magayo's next bout has been pencilled in, with Magsayo beginning to step up his training for the bout.
The reports suggest that Magsayo's next bout is set to take place on September 23rd and will be at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles as part of a PBC show.
Not only are the date and venue said to be set but so too is his opponent with American fighter Jose Haro (15-1-1, 8) said to have been selected as Magsayo's opponent.
The bout hasn't been officially confirmed, though is expected to be officially announced in the coming days.
If the bout is made the contest will be Magsayo's third professional bout in the US, , where he stopped Yardley Armenta Cruz inside a round and beat Ramiro Robles with a 12 round decision. Whilst it will be Haro's second bout since his tragic 2017 contest with Joshua Franco.
