My wife doesn’t know I’ve been longing to be a woman since I was a teen
DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE always wanted to be a woman . . . but how do I break the news to my wife?
She knows I like to wear her knickers and tights sometimes, but she doesn’t know that I’ve longed to be a girl since I was a teen.

I’m 52, my wife’s 51 and we’ve been together since we were 19.
She caught me wearing her underwear a few years ago – she walked in the bathroom as I was undressing.
She didn’t seem fazed, she said she knew that it was a turn-on for some men.
I was so blown away by how accepting she was that I didn’t want to push it.

What she doesn’t know is that I spend hours imagining myself as a woman.
I often look at the girls in her magazines and envy how comfortable they seem in their skin.
I have a box, hidden at the back of my wardrobe, full of clothes and accessories I’ve collected over the years.
I’ve never worn them, though. I will one day, but only when I look like who I feel I really am.
