Pokémon GO: How to Beat Arlo | Screen Rant

0

Arlo has a brand new team in Pokémon Go for the month of January. Team Rocket has been a staple in Pokémon Go for a few years now and if trainers swipe at a black PokéStop, they will meet a Team Rocket Grunt. It's possible to battle them and when they are defeated, trainers can steal their Shadow Pokémon. These are creatures with the light in their heart's shut out. Only a strong bond with a powerful trainer and enough Stardust will return it back to its normal form. After defeating six Team Rocket Grunts, the player will be given a Rocket Radar, an item used to locate Arlo.

Arlo, Sierra, and Cliff are the three Team Rocket Admins currently in the game. Outside of battling Pokémon Go's version of Giovanni, these are amongst the most challenging battles in the game. Unlike other Team Rocket members, they will use their protective shield to defend against incoming attacks. Not only that, but their Pokémon are much more powerful and often triple the CP numbers of the player's Pokémon. While this is a three-on-three Pokémon battle, Arlo's Pokémon will change with every encounter.

Arlo has seven possible Pokémon to choose from for this battle, these Pokémon are Gligar, Mawile, Lapras, Cradily, Scizor, Snorlax, and Gardevoir. Gligar will be the Shadow Pokémon that trainers can capture at the end of the battle. Not only that, but it also has the chance to appear Shiny. The best thing to do would be to try and battle Arlo and make it to his final Pokémon. That way, trainers can properly prepare for the rematch.

These are the best counters to bring to defeat Arlo in Pokémon Go.

  • Mamoswine: Powder Snow and Avalanche.
  • Glaceon: Ice Gang and Avalanche.
  • Hippowdon: Ice Fang and Weather Ball.
  • Rhyperior: Mud Slap and Rock Wrecker.
  • Entei: Fire Spin and Flame Charge:
  • Kyogre: Waterfall and Surf.
  • Porygon-Z: Lock On and Solar Beam.
  • Zekrom: Charge Beam and Wild Charge.
  • Sirfetch'd: Counter and Close Combat.
  • Ho-Oh: Incinerate and Brave Bird.
  • Dragonite: Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw.
  • Terrakion: Smack Down and Rock Slide.
  • Hariyama: Counter and Close Combat.
  • Machamp: Counter and Cross Chop.
  • Obstagoon: Counter and Cross Shop.
  • Reshiram: Fire Fang and Overheat.
  • Darmanitan: Fire Fang and Overheat.
  • Heatran: Fire Spin and Blast Burn.
  • Nidoqueen: Poison Jab and Poison Fang.
  • Metagross: Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash.
  • Tyranitar: Smack Down and Stone Edge.

Upon defeating Arlo, trainers will have the chance to capture the Gligar. Depending on how the player performed in battle will determine how many Premiere Balls they receive at the end. Not only that, but they will also receive 1,000 Stardust. It's one of the best ways to get Stardust in Pokémon Go. Completing the battle will also take away the Rocket Radar. To battle Arlo or any of the other Team Rocket Admins, the player will need to collect enough Rocker Radar pieces again.
