Jackass 4: New Cast Share Wild Stunts That Welcomed Them to Franchise
Jackass Forever's new cast share the wild stunts that welcomed them to the franchise. The Jackass brand has come a long way since its inception in 2000, with the MTV series created by Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze. The show paved the way for half a dozen Jackass spin-offs on the same network, and others. The comedy-stunt franchise now spans four feature films as well: Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two, and Jackass 3D. After a long layoff and various delays due to the pandemic, the fourth film in the franchise, Jackass Forever, finally released in theaters on February 4.
The new Jackass movie brings back many of the usual suspects, including Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy. Despite being fired from the production in February 2021, the scenes Bam Margera shot are included in the film as well. Sadly, this will be the first Jackass movie not to star Ryan Dunn, who tragically passed away after a car accident in 2011. Jackass Forever also breaks the mold by introducing a few newcomers, including the first female Jackass member in Rachel Wolfson. As usual, they will be joined by celebrity guest stars, most notably Eric Andre and Tony Hawk.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the new cast members shared their favorite stunts from Jackass Forever that welcomed them into the franchise. Each of the cast described their own painful experiences, which acted as a rite of passage for them joining the Jackass crew. Other than Wolfson, newcomers Zach Holmes, Jasper Dolphin, and Sean "Poopies" McInerney also spoke to Screen Rant. Read each of their responses down below:
Holmes: When I tried to fly over a cactus, that's when I was like, "Yeah, I'm in "Jackass.”
Dolphin: I would say, my moment is during the treadmill bit, you know what I'm saying? Because after the treadmill bit Steve-O leaned over and was like, "I didn't think you was going do it, but you showed me." I was like, "Yeah!” That was pretty cool. It happened so fast. I don't remember falling. I just remember... just, I was on the ground, like, "Oh my head!" It was just so quick.
Wolfson: For me, I think the day we did the taser, which was in the quiet game. Because I think they either thought I was going to cry or not do it, and neither of those things happened. I definitely saw their faces and some of their attitudes changed towards me after that.
McInerney: For me, it was my first stunt ever with them. All the cameras... and it was called the hot sauce challenge. I don't know if I can talk about it. But, I was looking at the cameras and all the boys were around me. I'm like, "Dude, I'm on Jackass.” My first stunt, I was like, "This is crazy." But yeah, it was awesome. Dream come true.
Other than these four new cast members, Eric Manaka and Compston "Darkshark" Wilson have also come aboard for Jackass Forever. Wolfson, Holmes, Dolphin, and McInerney's addition is notable, since this will be the first time a Jackass movie has introduces new members to the crew. Based on their answers, it sounds like the foursome had no trouble fitting in with the already established cast members like Knoxville and Steve-O, who are well-known for pulling off death-defying feats and pranks.
The new cast members all come from various walks of life, such as Dolphin, who is known as a founding member of the rap group Odd Future. One newcomer, Manaka, has even worked with Knoxville before on his 2018 film Action Point, while Holmes already has plenty of stunt experience as a star and co-creator of MTV's Too Stupid to Die. With Knoxville teasing that Jackass Forever may be his final contribution to the franchise, perhaps he has found a few brave enough to take over his mantle once he's finished.
