90 Day Fiancé: What Job Mike Berk Does For A Living
Popular 90 Day Fiancé cast member Mike Berk has more than one job, all of which are exciting just like his relationship with Colombian beauty Ximena Morales. The 34-year-old currently stars in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with Ximena, 24, a single mother of two. Early on in the season, Mike revealed he helps Ximena out with her expenses, including rent, food, furniture, and appliances. Mike and Ximena got engaged in episode 9, and in a preview for the next episode, he revealed she wants money for her plastic surgery.
“I stay afloat with what Mike contributes to me,” was Ximena’s honest confession during her 90 Day Fiancé introduction. The Pereira resident always wanted to become a manicurist. However, Ximena faced difficulties getting work in the pandemic, so Mike took it upon himself to look after his future wife and her two little sons. Still, viewers suspected Ximena’s intentions were less than pure when she revealed Mike is not her type and added, “Mike isn’t handsome physically, but from the heart he is.” They took it as a sign Ximena is mostly interested in Mike's wallet. Additionally, before Ximena said yes to Mike’s proposal, she hesitated due to his bad habits. She only decided to accept Mike’s ring when her mother reminded her that Mike is a provider and if she ended things with him, she’d no longer be able to afford an apartment and would have to start working.
When Ximena demanded Mike pay for her costly breast implants, some began to wonder about his career. According to RealityTitbit, Mike was working as a social media director at Malibu Detailing, an auto shop located in Stony Point, NY, before becoming a reality TV star on 90 Day Fiancé. On November 14, Mike gave a shoutout to the website on Facebook as he asked his followers to share the same on their pages because “It helps you support your friend without spending any money!” which suggests he was still working there. The bio of the Malibu Detailing company Facebook page notes it’s “Firemen owned & operated with over 20 years of Experience, Dedication, & Passion.”
On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Mike revealed he’s been a volunteer firefighter for the Thiells Fire Department northwest of NYC ever since high school, and he takes pride in helping people and the community. However, Mike’s primary job is as an IT support technician, and as of January 29, Mike told a follower, “I work for a financial tech company” when he posted an Instagram video while on his way to work.
At the time of filming 90 Day Fiancé, Mike was living at home with his father Larry and 94-year-old grandfather Hyman. Along with his earnings from the TLC show, it’s safe to assume Mike makes enough to provide for Ximena and her sons’ needs. Recent Instagram updates by Ximena suggest she did get her breast augmentation done, which was possibly paid for by Mike. In June 2021, Ximena also underwent liposuction, and her post has comments such as, “I knew Mike paid for a new body.” A car that Ximena posts about on Instagram is also rumored to be a gift from Mike. There are several clues that Mike and Ximena are still together, and the New Yorker sure has ways of showing his love for Ximena is genuine.
