0

Can't Hardly Wait presents several characters as the main arc shows Preston Meyers in his quest to gain his crush Amanda Beckett's affection. Some fans say Can't Hardly Wait is a forgotten romantic movie from the 1990s. However, others perhaps rank the movie highly as a cult classic.

Regardless of reputation, the flick showcases several quirky characters like Kenny Fisher and Denise Fleming. The students show their smarts in the way they respond to conflict. When faced with the challenges presented in the movie, some personalities prove to be smarter than others.

Channon Roe plays Jake. He is one of Mike's friends in the group of jocks he interacts with throughout the film. Mike doesn't appear to be the brightest student at the party the characters attend, but Jake and his buddies seem to be even less bright.

Jake doesn't have a mind of his own. Mike suggests he and their friends break up with their girlfriends, and they seem to follow blindly. They realize they don't want to follow through with the plan when they see their partners at the party. However, he seldom shows moments of critical thinking.

Tamala Jones' Cindi is Ben's girlfriend. She is showcased most with Beth and Rachel, the counterparts to Mike's group of buddies. Cindi is one of the more likable characters in Can't Hardly Wait. However, she doesn't have many moments highlighting her wits.

She seems to be without an independent mind. When the girls are trying to boost Amanda's confidence, she follows suit. After Amanda abruptly leaves their conversation and Beth changes her tune, Cindi echoes her sentiments. She doesn't present many moments showing her smarts or independent thinking.

Peter Facinelli plays Mike. He is one of the main antagonists in Can't Hardly Wait. He is characterized by his athleticism and is presented as a thick-headed jock. He shows his lack of foresight in dumping Amanda.

When he talks to Trip McNealy, he realizes he didn't think about the consequences of his actions, and he may have a future without romance. He shows his lack of self-awareness when he tries to kiss Amanda at the party after they've broken up. He shows his lack of emotional intelligence in his outbursts and when he breaks down at the end of the bash.

Can't Hardly Wait isn't one of Seth Green's highest-rated movies. However, fans of the film perhaps say he showcases one of its most memorable and quirky characters. He shows a lack of self-awareness in his curated persona.

Denise can see right through his constructed personality, but Kenny appears to believe he has everyone fooled. He shows a lack of emotional intelligence when he lashes out at Denise when he feels vulnerable after they sleep together.

Ethan Embry plays Preston. He is one of the main protagonists in the movie. Audiences might say he lacks emotional intelligence in his obsession with Amanda. However, he shows his smarts in his quest to win her affection.

He shows reasoning in his desire to attend the graduation party, knowing they'll both be attending and it will be an opportunity for him to talk to her. He gets into a good school and appears to be an academic, planning to work with a celebrated author, Kurt Vonnegut.

Jennifer Love Hewitt plays Amanda. She is often presented through Preston's exaggerated vision of her as a desirable person. However, she shows her smarts in her actions during the party. She shows her lack of reasoning when she tells her second cousin she knows why she started dating Mike but not why she continued dating him.

However, she shows her critical thinking skills when she searches the party for Preston, asking others for clues to help her come to a conclusion. She shows her self-awareness and attention to detail in her beratement of Mike, unpacking his failings in public.

Lauren Ambrose is perhaps best known for her role in Six Feet Under. She plays Denise. Denise is characterized by her grumpy attitude and judgment of others. She perhaps thinks she is smarter than many of her peers. She proves to be intelligent in several ways.

When she and Kenny are locked in the bathroom, she recalls their days together in middle school. She says he began to avoid her because "[she] was in all the smart classes." She shows emotional intelligence in her conversation with him.

Like many characters in the film, Charlie Korsmo's William fits the mold of a high school cliché personality. While Mike Dexter is a jock, William is the nerd of the movie. As such, he is characterized by his intelligence. He is bookish and shows his brainpower several times. He shows foresight when he lays out his plan to sabotage Mike and take embarrassing photos of him.

His smarts are implicit in his hobbies shown with his title card, listing him in Math Club, Spelling Bee Club, and the Debate Team. He shows critical thinking when he brings a card to deduce his inebriation at the party. It is hard to argue he isn't the movie's smartest main character.
