Gran Turismo 7: Best Cars To Get First | Screen Rant
Gran Turismo 7 brings players hundreds of cars, 97 circuits spread across 34 locations. The latest installment in this iconic racing game series offers an entire world of motor racing to explore, but players may struggle to choose what cars to prioritize unlocking in the game. Knowing about the cars available early on in the game can help players get a strong start in their first few hours of racing.
Players won’t have access to high-performance vehicles at the start of Gran Turismo 7. However, players will have access to several lower-end cars to race in. A few of these best starter cars are available to the player right at the beginning of the game but it’s worth the player considering which vehicles to unlock and buy to help them complete Menu Books and progress onto a bigger collection of cars in Gran Turismo 7.
The opening of Gran Turismo 7 offers players a choice of three cars at the Used Car Dealership. Players will need to consider upgrade potential, performance, and price when choosing any car throughout the game, but these factors are important to consider at the start of the game. The game provides players with a handful of cars that are more than capable to get them off to a good start.
As part of the tutorial at the beginning of Gran Turismo 7 players will be able to choose the Toyota Aqua S 2011 from the Used Car Dealership, which is a good all-rounder making it a safe first choice for the player. It can be purchased for 14,300 credits, but if the player does not buy it at this stage, the vehicle can be won as a gift car for placing third or better in one of the races in the first Menu Book.
The Toyota Aqua S is the most expensive of the first three cars available at the beginning of Gran Turismo 7. However, it has the highest PP rating, good acceleration, and its hybrid engine means it handles well, meaning it’s a great choice for any new player. Similarly, at the Used Car Dealership players could choose the Honda Fit Hybrid 2014. Despite a lower PP rating than the Toyota Aqua, its stats make it a good choice for new players. However, players will save 1,300 credits. The Honda Fit Hybrid can be unlocked if the player places top three of the Autodrome Lago Maggiore Sunday Cup race.
There are three more vehicles players should consider unlocking early on before taking on more challenging races in Gran Turismo 7. The Mini-Cooper S 1965 can be unlocked by placing third or higher in the Goodwood Sunday Cup as part of the European Classic Compacts Collection Menu Book. In this collection it proves to have a superior PP rating, meaning players should add this to their garage, reserving it for classic races. The Suzuki Swift Sport 2017 is another all-rounder, with a lighter build and more power than the Toyota Aqua. Players can unlock this vehicle by placing third or higher in one of the Japanese FF Sports Cars Collection Menu Book or by a random draw after winning the High-Speed Ring Track Day Championship.
Another car that can be unlocked as part of a random card draw after winning the High-Speed Ring Track Day Championship is the Honda Integra Type R (DC2) 1998. Players can also unlock this vehicle by placing third or higher in the Japanese FF Challenge 450 race at the High-Speed Ring. The Honda Integra Type R is harder to drive for players who are new to Gran Turismo, due to its high speed. However, its handling makes the Honda Integra R essential for players starting out in Gran Turismo 7.
Gran Turismo 7 is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
