Shane Warne state funeral LIVE – ‘Greatest show on Earth’ as Elton John & Kylie turn out for iconic cricketer’s memorial

AUSTRALIAN Cricket legend Shane Warne has been given a fitting farewell as his state funeral.

The memorial took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, after Warne’s family accepted the offer of a state funeral from Victoria premier Daniel Andrews.

Millions tuned in to pay their respects from across the globe, and a crowd of over 50,000 people attended the service at the MCG.

Kylie Minogue, Coldplay and Elton John were among the stars leading tributes at the state funeral on what was a night celebrating the iconic cricketer’s colourful life rather than a time for sombre mourning.

The cricket legend tragically passed away earlier this month at the age of just 52, after suffering a heart attack on holiday in Koh Samui, Thailand.
