Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) are pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Gaughran as their Marketing and Communications Executive. Ian (pictured) will join Horse Sport Ireland from Mediahuis, where he has been working as Acting Editor for The Herald newspaper. He has reported across the board on all things sport, and worked extensively in equine-related news as part the Irish Daily Star’s sports desk before taking on more editorial responsibility after a switch to The Herald. There he predominantly focused on news and current affairs, while continuing to write sport features for the Mediahuis group. His experience includes the duty of horse racing coordinator with the Irish Daily Star, ghost writing for several of Ireland’s leading jockeys, feature pieces and in-depth interviews with some of Ireland’s best-known horse racing personalities.
