Though he uses underhanded means, his purpose is to save Mandalore from what he strongly believes is the wrong path, so he feels his actions are justified. He is so dedicated to the Mandalorian way that he accepts Maul's challenge even though he is clearly outmatched. This decision proves to be tragic but earns the respect of viewers who value dedication and follow-through.
Die-hard fans of The Clone Wars can't help but shed a tear when thinking about Trooper 99. Despite his limitations, 99 does everything he can to support his brothers and is willing to do menial work just to be part of the team. Although others mistreat and disparage him, he never becomes bitter. He even takes the time to befriend and advise Domino Squad, and the wisdom he shares enables them to succeed. 99 supports and helps his brothers to the end, making him a favorite with his fellow clones and viewers alike.
