Manuel Akanji ‘ready to QUIT Dortmund and is considering Premier League transfer’ amid Man Utd interest
BORUSSIA DORTMUND centre-back Manuel Akanji is rumoured to be “considering a move to England”.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at Dortmund at the end of next season but could look to depart this summer.
Akanji is eager to take the “next step” in his career by heading to the Premier League, according to German outlet Sport1.
The 39-cap Swiss international has been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks.
Reports from Bild last month claim the Red Devils are set to offer the defender a deal worth up to £240,000-a-week.
More clubs from England are thought to be interested, although they remain unnamed.

Akanji himself continues to remain coy on his future but he did hint at a summer transfer when recently quizzed by reporters.
Following the 4-1 defeat to RB Leipzig on Saturday, as quoted by Kicker, Akanji said: “I am fully focused on Dortmund at the moment. We will see what happens in the future.
“I’m totally happy to play in this team. I think I have an important role and I want to perform until the end.
“And then we’ll see in the summer how things go.”

Dortmund are thought to be willing to cash in and let Akanji leave this summer rather than lose him for free in 12 months after talks over a new contract hit a wall.
The Bundesliga outfit are understood to want around £25million for his signature.
And in a potential mass exodus at Dortmund Nico Schulz, Emre Can, Thorgan Hazard AND Julian Brandt are all free to leave in the upcoming transfer window.
Were Akanji to depart, Freiburg centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck is being an eyed as a replacement.
Although Dortmund are set to face competition from bitter rivals Bayern Munich for the 22-year-old’s signature.
