Mighty Ducks’ Shaun Weiss looks unrecognizable in new photo as he lands first acting role after meth addiction battle
SHAUN Weiss looked completely unrecognizable in a new photo as he celebrated landing his first acting role in years.
The Mighty Ducks star recently triumphed two years sober after recovering from his meth addiction.
Now Shaun, 42, has overhauled his appearance for his first acting role “in a while.”
The actor took to his Instagram profile over the weekend to share a rare selfie as he posed with his mouth open and his hair worn long around his shoulders.
The former child star gazed off into the distance while wearing a white wife-beater tank top and a silver chain.
Shaun used a photo filter to make his full beard, mustache, and face shiny in the new picture.

“John Erwin & Lions Gate for my first role in… a while #jesusrevolutionmovie,” he captioned the shot.
The TV star looked entirely different than two years prior when he was battling a severe addiction to meth.
On Tuesday Shaun told TMZ that he will be starring in the film Jesus Revolution alongside Kelsey Grammer.
TWO YEARS SOBER
The movie star made quite the turnaround as he celebrated having reached two years of sobriety this past January following his drug battle.

The 90s star shared a before-and-after snapshot of himself on Instagram to commemorate the occasion.
In the first half of the snap, the former child star appeared to be frail, underweight, and pale.
However, in the next half, the Mighty Ducks actor seemed healthier as his skin complexion looked richer.
The caption stated: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with 12 amazing steps.”
MAKING A CHANGE
The ex Disney star checked himself into a rehab facility back in March 2020.
When the pandemic began, Shaun had been residing in a sober living center in California.
The actor’s close friend, Drew Gallager, re-shared the image on his Instagram and described the transformation as a “triumph.”
Drew mentioned that the Heavyweights star has been “two years sober.”
He wrote: “So proud of you brother — look at you now.”
Drew previously helped take care of Shaun throughout his journey of sobriety.
Back in January 2020, Shaun’s caretaker explained his friend’s condition to PEOPLE, and said: “There’s not a blameless Shaun Weiss here, he is definitely to blame for a lot of stupid s**t he does.”
He added: “If you were to spend any time with him you would have a drastically more compassionate understanding of what he was about.
“He’s sick, he’s mentally ill. He’s just sick and everybody gives up on him.”
BATTLE WITH ADDICTION
Shaun’s drug abuse previously led to a troubling series of legal issues.
Back in 2017, the Freaks and Geeks star was sentenced to 150 days in jail for petty theft but only served 12 when he was released.
He was arrested again for possession of methamphetamine in Burbank, California.
After serving about 90 days, Shaun was locked up a year later in August 2018 for public intoxication.
Then in January of 2020, Shaun was caught breaking into a home while high on methamphetamine.
He reportedly busted into a man’s garage in Van Nuys, California, and allegedly smashed the man’s car windshield at 7 am, according to the Marysville Police Department.
The report read: “Officers noticed shattered glass on the ground and observed that the passenger window to the vehicle was broken.”
TURNING A CORNER
Back in July 2021, the burglary case was dismissed as the actor successfully completed the drug court program and reached 18 months of sobriety from his meth addiction, according to TMZ.

The Facebook page for California’s Yuba County shared a photo of Shaun graduating from the drug court program.
He appeared to be in a healthy state as he posed with a judge while holding up his certificate.
