Three women and two students were washed away in two incidents in the Bhavani river in Coimbatore district on Saturday. In the first incident, six students from the Government ITI entered the river around 3.30am at Uppupallam near Thekkampatti in Mettupalayam to take bath and two students were washed away in the strong current.
