Sri Lanka's inflation drops to 22.1 pct in May

COLOMBO, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's inflation, based on the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), dropped to 22.1 percent in May, the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) revealed on Wednesday.

Headline inflation for April was 33.6 percent, as per the NCPI.

Inflation in the food category dropped to 15.8 percent in May from 27.1 percent in April.
