I spent nearly $1,000 to have hair extensions done – it came out awful and the stylist gaslit me when I complained
A BLONDE who paid a fortune for her hair extensions was left horrified when she saw the results.
Because she thinks her mane usually looks “stunning,” she called out her stylist for the poor job but was made to feel like it was her fault.
Annie Shaffer (@anniekshaffer) said she spent “almost $1,000” on her hair, only to realize it looked “absolutely disgusting.”
She let it down loose to show her bad extensions.
“It just doesn’t blend anymore because I think the bottom tracks that used to be at the bottom are now at the top, and the tracks that used to be at the top are now at the bottom,” she said in the clip.
“And remember, these are professionally installed and cut to be perfect.”
Annie was frustrated with her hair stylist for seemingly messing up her ‘do.
“It looks like cheap hair extensions that I bought on Amazon.”
She then went on to explain how she was gaslit by her stylist.
“I texted her and sent her pictures saying, ‘This does not blend. Something is wrong.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, come in and I can lower the bottom track.’”
Annie instantly knew that wasn’t going to fix the problem, as she pointed out that an entire track that used to exist on the top left of her head was no longer in the right place.
So, she told her.
“And she just started making excuses like, ‘We should just start you off with fresh hair. I don’t like that hair anyway.’”
Annie stopped her there, informing her that the hair pieces actually cost $600.
“If you wanted to start with fresh hair or you wanted to take them out, you should have said that before you did it and then charged me almost $1,000.
“Like, why didn’t she voice that before?”
She blamed the hair stylist for acting like it was Annie’s fault.
“They can never just take responsibility for their own mistakes, it’s always something else that’s the problem.”
She compared her new look to her old one.
“I had beautiful, long hair. And now, it is stringy and ugly.”
At her follow-up appointment, she was going to be strong about what she deserved, rather than settle for a small percentage discount.
“I am either walking out of there looking beautiful and amazing, like I have $1,000 hair, which I deserve and looked like a week ago, or I am walking out with a full refund.”
Viewers took her side.
