Anthony Edwards' Blackjack strategy is bankroll management at its finest

It’s been quite a year for Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. After being the best player for Team USA this summer, the superstar has led the Wolves to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with a 39-16 record.

He’ll be making his second All-Star appearance this weekend in Indianapolis, and with all of that success comes attention. Edwards note a recent Vanity Fair profile that while he doesn’t drink, he does like to gamble, particularly on blackjack.

But unlike much of the betting world seems to be doing these days, he’s doing it responsibly.

“I go in there with $10 to $20K, and if they take that, I’m gone,” Edwards says in the article.

For most us, that might seem like a high bankroll for a night, but with Edwards’ contract extension potentially worth $260 million over four years kicking in next season, it’s a drop in the bucket for him.

Here’s hoping he’ll have less time to play in April, May and June this season.
