East Durham man jailed for possessing child sex abuse materials
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Gregory Kurzajczyk, 76, of East Durham, was sentenced to fourteen years and seven months in prison. Kurzajczyk, who previously served six years in prison for receiving and distributing files containing child sex abuse materials, was convicted following a three-day jury trial in October.
On February 16, 2022, a Probation Officer located an unauthorized laptop in Kurzajczyk’s bedroom. Further investigations uncovered two more unauthorized laptops and two USB drives containing images and videos of child sex abuse.
The sentencing consists of 151 months for the convictions and 24 months for violating the conditions of supervised release. Kurzajczyk was ordered to forfeit the devices with the files and to pay $39,000 to the victims.
Upon release from prison, Kurzajczyk will serve 15 years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
