SC overturned its own order in the case in which four MPs from the party were charged with taking money to vote in favour of the Narasimha Rao-led Congress government in 1991 during a no-confidence motion. The verdict comes at a time when ex-Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is facing charges of financial wrong-doing. His father and then MP Shibu Soren was one of the four JMM MPs who had faced the bribery charge.
