Ebrahim Raisi allocates 3 billion Euros to seal borders, including Afghanistan: Iran

Iran’s President has ordered three billion euros to be allocated to the country’s Armed Forces Headquarters to block borders, including the Afghanistan border.

Majid Mirahmadi, an Interior Ministry official, stated that routes facilitating human and weapon smuggling, including the Afghanistan border, are prioritized in this initiative.

According to Iranian media reports, Mr. Ahmadi described the border blockade program as comprehensive, involving multiple implementation layers, including fencing, wall construction, and intelligent border control systems.

He mentioned Ibrahim Raisi’s approval of the border closure and instructed the armed forces to initiate the border sealing process within five years with this allocation.

The Deputy Security Minister of Iran’s Interior Ministry stated that Iran is fortifying its borders to enhance security and prevent human and weapon trafficking.

He emphasized that more than $20 billion of smuggled goods enter or leave Iran annually. Ahmadi stressed that addressing drug trafficking and insecurities plaguing Iran can all be resolved through fundamental investment in border closures.
