OKCPD officer will not face charges for man shot, killed in NW Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An Oklahoma City Police officer will not be facing charges for the shooting death of a northwest Oklahoma City man in May, according to an Oklahoma County Grand Jury decision.
The Grand Jury met on Tuesday to review evidence related to the death of Kenneth Allsen, who was shot and killed by Oklahoma City Police after officers responded to a reported domestic violence call.
Surveillance shows that when officers arrived at the residence near N Rockwell Ave and W Hefner Rd, Allsen shouted expletives and fired a rifle into the air.
Shortly after, Allsen was shot and killed while reaching for a handgun in his waistband. A second handgun was also found in Allsen's back pocket.
After reviewing evidence that included body cam footage and surveillance video, and hearing a testimony from two witnesses, the Grand Jury determined a use-of-force expert would not be needed in this case.
The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office will not be filing charges against the officer as a result of the Grand Jury's recommendation.
