ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new Chick-fil-A location is officially coming to Albany. Chick-fil-A confirmed to NEWS10 that construction is underway on the new location.

“It’s our pleasure to confirm that construction for Chick-fil-A Central Avenue and Colvin Avenue is underway," said Chick-fil-A. "The locally owned and operated restaurant is slated to open in late 2024, pending any delays."

The new restaurant will be located at 944 Central Avenue at the former Armory Garage site. The Chick-fil-A plans were presented to the Albany Planning Board in the fall of 2023.

According to the plans, the Chick-fil-A building will be about 5,200 square feet and have two drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio with seating. It'll have about 98 parking spaces and cost around $750,000 to build.

The restaurant will have about 125 to 150 employees and be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The company is known for its restaurants being closed on Sundays.

In the Capital Region, Chick-fil-A has locations in Clifton Park, North Greenbush, and the Albany International Airport. Another location was proposed for Latham in 2021 but has not gone forward yet.

"We look forward to joining the Albany community soon, and to serving all of our guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality," said Chick-fil-A.
