“I’m dying!”: foreigner removed from Astana-Almaty flight

Tengrinews.kz – A foreigner was removed from a flight at the capital’s airport for causing a disturbance on board.
On February 26, a passenger was removed from flight DV744 Astana-Almaty at the Astana airport after causing a commotion before takeoff. Readers sent a video of the incident to our editorial WhatsApp number: in the footage, the man first complains of feeling unwell and tries to open the door, but then asks not to be removed from the plane.

As reported by the press service of the Transport Police Department, a 44-year-old passenger from Russia suddenly announced before departure that he felt pain in his heart and lack of air. However, as it soon became clear, his condition did not require urgent medical care, but an alcohol test was required.

"At the capital's airport, employees of the linear police department, following an act by airline representatives, removed a passenger from the Astana-Almaty flight, who suddenly demanded to leave the plane before departure. The man reported a sharp deterioration in his health, complaining of heart pain and shortness of breath. However, his condition was not so critical - instead of medical care, he required an alcohol test.
During the investigation, it was established that the 44-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation was in a state of mild alcohol intoxication. With his inadequate actions, he not only forced the crew to delay, but also managed to damage the auxiliary handle of the front door of the plane. For violations on the plane, this citizen was held liable for drinking alcoholic beverages or appearing in public places in a state of intoxication and violating the rules of conduct on board an aircraft," the department noted.

For disturbing the order on board, the Russian was brought to administrative responsibility under articles on drinking alcohol in public places and failure to comply with the rules of conduct on air transport. Law enforcement agencies reminded that any violations on board the aircraft can lead to serious consequences.

"Safety on board is a priority for everyone. Any inadequate actions and violation of order entail liability before the law and can affect the serviceability of the aircraft, delay the flight and even lead to serious consequences," the Department of Transport emphasized.

The plane eventually departed on its route with a delay.
