Additional trains will be launched for holidays in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - Additional trains will be launched in Kazakhstan for December holidays.
The Ministry of Transport has announced an increase in train services across Kazakhstan from December 13, 2024, to January 9, 2025, to meet the heightened demand during Independence Day and New Year celebrations.
Additional trains will operate on the following routes:Astana – Almaty (№ 201/202):
From Astana: December 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 2024, and January 1, 4, 2025;From Almaty: December 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 2024, and January 2, 5, 2025.
Astana – Shymkent (№ 203/204):
From Astana: December 13, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 2024, and January 1, 4, 2025;From Shymkent: December 14, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 2024, and January 2, 5, 2025.
Aktobe – Astana (№ 205/206):
From Aktobe: December 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 2024, and January 1, 4, 2025;From Astana: December 14, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 2024, and January 3, 6, 2025.
Additionally, during the holiday season, 688 extra passenger carriages will be added to trains, particularly on high-demand routes. These will include standard coupe and reserved seat cars.
Carriages distribution by region:
Northern region: 279 carriages (12,188 seats);
Western region: 298 carriages (12,824 seats);
Southern region: 96 carriages (4,256 seats).
From December 13, three additional commuter electric trains will also be introduced, providing 1,123 extra seats.
Astana – Burabay Resort (№ 7515/7516): Operates daily, except Tuesday and Wednesday.
Karaganda – Astana – Burabay Resort (№ 7553/6811–6812/7556): Operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Pavlodar – Astana – Burabay Resort (№ 7509/6805–6806/7510): Operates on Fridays and Sundays.
The Ministry also emphasized that these additional trains will significantly increase the availability of seats during the holidays.
"Ticket prices will remain unchanged, with no tariff increases," clarified the Ministry of Transport.

In 2024, December 16 falls on a Monday, giving the country's residents a long weekend to enjoy.
Weekend schedule:
December 14, Saturday: A workday for those on a six-day schedule and a day off for those on a five-day schedule.
December 15, Sunday: Regular day off.
December 16, Monday: Independence Day (a public holiday for all).
