Uzbek citizen was detained in northern Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - Police in the Kostanay region have detained a citizen of Uzbekistan who ignored a court order to leave the country, according to Polisia.kz.
The woman was identified during a police operation in the city of Tobyl as part of the "Uchastok" preventive campaign.
"While patrolling, law enforcement officers conducted a document check and discovered that the Uzbek citizen lacked a permit for temporary residence in Kazakhstan. This raised suspicions, and the woman was taken to the police station for further investigation," the police statement reads.
Authorities found that in August 2023, the Specialized Interdistrict Court of Astana had ordered her deportation for violating migration laws. However, she failed to comply with the decision and evaded law enforcement, remaining in the country unlawfully.
"In accordance with current legislation, the Kostanay Regional Court authorized restricted movement measures for the foreign citizen for a period of 30 days. She has been placed in a temporary detention center in Kostanay until the court's decision is enforced," the statement added.
The police in Astana have been informed of her detention and will oversee her deportation from Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded foreign nationals with similar court rulings to leave the country within the legally stipulated timeframe to avoid additional sanctions and consequences.
Earlier, six Pakistani nationals were found working illegally at a construction site in Astana during an operation by the city's migration service.
