According to The Hollywood Reporter, USA has bought a 10-episode series based on the 2007 film starring Mark Wahlberg (which was inspired by Stephen Hunter's novel Point of Impact). "Shooter is an uncompromising exploration of the definition and evolution of a hero," said USA's executive vice-president of original programming. John Hlavin wrote the pilot script, and will executive produce with Wahlberg and Wahlberg's Ballersproducing partner Stephen Levinson.

Assault charges against Orange Is the New Black actress Taryn Manning have been dropped after her accuser failed to show up for a court appearance Tuesday, ET reports. According to court documents, Hartman claimed Manning Whipped me with a wet towel. In a legally unrelated but similarly dramatic story, Manning is planning to file a $10 million lawsuit against the City of New York, claiming she was falsely arrested in 2014 and accused of threatening a woman who had been stalking her. The death of Kristin Cavallari's brother, Michael, has been ruled accidental. According to a statement from the Grand County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, the cause of death was hypothermia from exposure to cold environmental temperatures. The 30-year-old was reported missing on Nov. 27, 2015, after abandoning his car in Utah desert. He was found dead nearly two weeks later on Dec. 10, three miles away from his car.
