Several Bay Area cities broke temperature records for the day during a mid-winter heat wave that continued Tuesday, but San Francisco came just one degree short of tying its record, forecasters said. Peskin wants S.F. street artists compensated for Super Bowl City

On Tuesday, Supervisor Aaron Peskin introduced legislation to create a $100,000 fund to compensate the street artists, food vendors, shoe shine salesman and other small business owners who were displaced by Super Bowl City. Women taking a common antidepressant late in their pregnancy were 60 per cent more likely to experience postpartum hemorrhage, a major cause of medical complications in childbirth. Researchers at the University of B.C. found that more than one in 10 women taking selective serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) — especially Effexor, also known as venlafaxine — suffered excessive bleeding.
