Kevin Spacey Will Face Three More Assault Lawsuits in Court
Kevin Spacey will face three more sexual-assault lawsuits in court, the BBC reported Wednesday. The civil cases, filed by three different men in the U.K., allege that Spacey assaulted them between 2000 and 2013.
One of the men, Ruari Cannon, reportedly crossed paths with Spacey in 2013 at London’s Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey was artistic director at the time. Cannon, who was an actor in a play there, alleged that Spacey groped him at an after-party. Cannon previously appeared in the 2024 documentary Spacey Unmasked, in which he first made the allegation. Spacey previously said Cannon’s allegation was “ridiculous and it never happened.”
The other two men are referred to only by their initials in legal filings. One of them, identified as LNP, alleged that Spacey “deliberately assaulted” him 12 times between 2000 and 2005. The other, identified as GHI, said he first met Spacey at a workshop at the Old Vic and alleged the actor assaulted him in 2008, causing him to suffer “psychiatric damage and financial loss.” GHI previously sued Spacey in 2022, but his case was paused after criminal charges were brought; Spacey was later acquitted of those charges.
Spacey has denied any wrongdoing, per the BBC, and has officially filed denials against two of the claims so far. His rep declined to comment to The Cut.
The cases are expected to go to court in October 2026, though it’s not yet clear whether they will be heard as one case or three separate ones, per Sky News. Elizabeth-Anne Gumbel, K.C., who is representing the three accusers, has pushed for them to be heard as one, while Spacey’s counsel, William McCormick, K.C., has called for LNP’s case to be heard separately, arguing that “the only common feature” of the cases “is Kevin Spacey.” “The circumstances of the alleged assaults are markedly different and occur many years apart,” McCormick wrote.
