IT’S a busy weekend for me and there’s no let up on Sunday as I head to Bath for three rides.
There’s also another cracking day of action over in Ireland so plenty to talk about!
Stewart Williams - The Sun
First up I ride Hope Is High in the 4.30pm for John Berry. I won on her the last day at Bath and she won well that day and it was probably a bit of a snug win.
We didn’t get a split until a furlong to go and she quickened up really nicely. That was over a mile and four furlongs and she’s probably better over this trip as she stays well.
She was placed in this race last year, she seems to be in great form and she likes Bath. She doesn’t mind quick ground and I imagine she will probably go quite close again.
In the 5.10pm I ride a horse called Seaquinn who is still a maiden but has been in and out of form. She can be a little bit awkwardly away, if she jumps well and everything goes right then you might hope to squeak into the frame.
I was delighted to get Noble Prospector‘s head back in front again on Friday, he’s a progressive horse and it was nice to see him winning back on the turf and hopefully there’s more to come from him.
The step up in trip helped and I’m looking forward to seeing where he goes next.
She’s more than capable on her day and hopefully if everything goes well then we might run better than her price suggests.
Then in the 5.45pm I ride Arctic Sea for Paul Cole. He’s been running really well and deserves to get his head back in front.
I think the race will suit as there looks to be plenty of pace on paper and I reckon he has a massive shout.
There’s some top-class action at the Curragh on Sunday too and I can’t wait to see Archie Watson’s Soldier’s Call in the Flying Five.
He’s been running really well lately and has plenty of speed. He came up against Battaash at York who was seriously impressive that day but take nothing away from this horse he ran a blinder in defeat and I think he’s probably the one from the English raiders.

You have to respect Soffia who has won her last three starts and is an improving horse who also has course form at the Curragh.
I’m going to stick with Daahyeh in the Moyglare who has some red-hot form. I think she’s a really smart filly and will take all the beating.
Jessica Harrington’s filly Albigna is unbeaten but think she has to step up again in order to beat Roger Varian’s filly.
The National Stakes is a really good race and Armory has looked impressive on his last couple of runs although not winning that far the last time the horse he beat has actually turned out to be quite smart.
Pinatubo has been extremely impressive this yearAlamy Live News
But I think they all have to improve massively to beat Pinatubo who has been seriously dominant over here and has been super impressive in all his starts and looks a class above at this stage and I’d be very surprised to see him beat.
William Buick takes over from James Doyle but he will know the horse inside out and I’m very much looking forward to seeing him run.
In the Irish St Leger I’m going to side with Cross Counter who ran a huge race behind Stradivarius and Dee Ex Bee at Goodwood.
He avoided York and comes here fresher than some and is a talented horse.
I wouldn’t rule out Twilight Payment now who is with Joseph O’Brien, he beat Latrobe last time and is a massive price and I think he could run a big race.
