Emmerdale’s Billy star Jay Kontzle announces ‘special’ new project away from ITV soap
SOAP fans have congratulated Jay Kontzle after the actor revealed one of his off-screen projects on social media.
The Emmerdale star shared a snap of a poster for his new short film.
Billy Fletcher sees himself embroiled in new drama while his wife Dawn Taylor is adamant on taking little Clemmie home.
The 31-year-old actor has been portraying Billy since December, 2018, and is accustomed to the ups and downs of life in soap land.
But amid drama in the Dales, Jay Kontzle also leads an exciting life away from the eponymous as he dedicates his time to his own projects.
In a recent Instagram post, Jay shared a glimpse of his newest project – a poster of his short film titled Bring Back My Bonnie as it’s been shown as part of film festivals this summer.

“Awesome Jay”, one of them penned while another echoed: “Amazing.”
Angela Lonsdale also replied to Jay’s post with her own comment: “I was so proud to be part of this. Thank you to all involved too.”
Three years before the release of Bring Back My Bonnie, Jay worked on another short film called Underwater as a producer, once again.
And while ITV viewers are used to seeing him on TV, Jay actually landed his debut acting role on the silver screen, in the film Treasure of Albion (2006).
Although he remains present in front and behind cameras, Jay has also harboured a passion for music.
