I’m A Celebrity stars given code names by bosses to keep identity secret before show
THE I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of here stars were given code names by bosses before the show to keep their identities hidden.
ITV made sure to use the names in meetings, at photoshoots and in planning during the run-up to the show.
Last night, viewers of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here got to meet the new celebrity line-up for the first time on screen.
Among them were pop singer Boy George, former rugby star Mike Tindall, Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver and Lioness Jill Scott.
But in the months leading up to the hit ITV programme, show bosses used nicknames to hide their identities.
They opted for The Masked Singer inspired code names, which are said to have included Text, Coffee and Mic.

While the celebrity line-up did come to light in the days running up to the show, the names were still used by staff members.
Among the names given out to the celebs were Ship, Holiday, Butcher, Cap, Fridge, Mic, Lion, Sunshine and Text.
ITV declined to comment on who was given each name in the code when approached by The Mirror.
However, Boy George was seen dressing as a lion as he headed Down Under last week – hinting that could have been his nickname.

While elsewhere, Love Island star Olivia Attwood is thought to be Text, due to the famous line from the ITV2 show: “I’ve got a text”.
Radio DJ Chris Moyles is likely to be Mic, while Scarlette Douglas, who presents A Place In The Sun, could be Sunshine.
While Jill Scott is the prime candidate for Cap, as the most capped players of all time for England with 161 appearances.
It comes after this year’s most influential camp mates were revealed – with stars earning thousands for their social media uploads.
Love Island’s Olivia, 31, is thought to be earning £6,000 per post courtesy of picture promotions for her almost two million followers which make her the most “influential” star.
Company AskGamblers.com told The Sun how the stunning reality-star-turned-documentary-presenter is the highest-earning contestant this year.

Meanwhile, Boy George was revealed to be hot on her heels as the second highest Instagram-earning contestant on I’m a Celebrity.
And Chris can earn up to £1,833 per sponsored post, making him the third highest Instagram-earning star of the new series.
