The pair had different partners for a period of their time in the villa but eventually reconnected.
However, just two weeks before the final, Liberty dumped Jake and they dramatically quit the show.
Now Jake, 25 has revealed he wished people didn’t know who he was.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, the former islander said: “It’s nice being in the limelight and people speaking to you and that kind of thing but sometimes you do think ‘I wish people would just not know me’ so you could just relax.”
Since his stint in the limelight he’s opened up three businesses – a bed and mattress company, an outdoor furniture company and promotions company too.
He said it “keeps me busy” but also teased he’ll be making a TV come back soon – but was reluctant to give anymore details.
He said: “You’ll see me again soon on your TV. It’s different. But no comment on what it’s going to be just yet.”
While Jake has said he obviously doesn’t speak to Liberty since their shock split, he has kept in touch with fellow contestants.
“I speak to the lads and a couple of girls now and again but I don’t speak to Liberty,” he revealed.
The Weston-super-Mare lad previously shared a series of gruelling workout photos after hitting the gym.
Jake looked dramatically different as he put his six pack on display, showing off his new figure.
