January 7, 2019
COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville (Ky.) and St. Andrews (N.C.) are the preseason favorites to win their divisions in 2019 according to the Mid-South Conference Men's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Polls, MSC officials announced on Friday.
The inaugural season of men's volleyball kicks off next week in the Mid-South, as it was approved as the 27th varsity sport last year. The 10 teams are broken up into two divisions, the North and the South.
St. Andrews picked up 15 voting points to sit atop the South Division, while Campbellsville tallied 16 points to lead the North Division.
Coaches voted only within their division and were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.
St. Andrews garnered three of the five first-place votes to lead the way in the South Division preseason poll. The Knights finished 19-9 last season and earned an automatic bid into the national tournament after winning an unaffiliated conference tournament last season.
