Arsenal plant the seed to open the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that he would welcome the opportunity for his side to face Tottenham Hotspur in the opening match at their new stadium.
Tottenham confirmed earlier this week that the 62,062 seater stadium would not see any competitive football before March.
The upcoming Premier League fixtures against Watford (Jan 30), Newcastle (Feb 2), Leicester (Feb 10) and the Champions League first leg against Borussia Dortmund (Feb 13) have all been moved to Wembley Stadium.
Tottenham’s first game in the following month is on March 2nd, for the visit of Arsenal in the North London derby. Some in the media have claimed that it is unlikely that the club would risk using such a game as a curtain-raiser for the new venue.
