Chelsea maintained their fourth position on the Premier League table following their 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday, January 12.
The victory means that the Blues have won their first English topflight game in the new year having being forced to a goalless draw by Southampton in their last game.
Spanish winger Pedro opened scoring for the Blues just after nine minutes into the game through an incredible strike.
Five minutes to the end of the first stanza, Ciaran Clark restored parity for the visitors with Matt Ritchie claiming the assist for the equaliser.
Brazil forward Willian put his side back in front for the second time in the game to ensure they claim maximum points.
However, Maurizio Sarri's men remain 10 points behind current table toppers Liverpool ahead of their crucial game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
The game also saw Bayern Munich target Callum Hudson Odoi feature for just nine minutes After being introduced for Pedro in the 81st minute.
Chelsea came into this game on the back of their slim defeat to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their EFL Cup semifinal clash during the week.
