In Nigeria, the issue of dark-skin versus light-skin has always been a topic for debate. It has been noticed that a number of people now lighten their skin so as to appear more attractive among other things.
The obvious trend of light skinned people getting more advantages than dark skinned individuals has raised several questions. However this discrimination based on colour seems to have reached the work place.
An aggrieved Nigerian man, identified as Edoziem Chisom Valentine, took to his Instagram page to call out a company that listed being light skinned as an added advantage for the job of a customer service representative.
According to Edoziem, the company is being racist and has no justification for adding skin colour as one of its requirements.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported on a South African school that allegedly separated black and white pupils in a classroom.
The controversial picture was apparently taken in a school called Schweizer-Reneke Laerskool. It showed several happy looking white kids sitting on a table in the middle of the class while their black colleagues looked left out of the fun moment as they were seated on a different table located by the classroom door.
However, all might not have been as it seemed. Media consultant, Phil Mphela, posted photos that have yet to be seen on Twitter, saying:
"Looks like the viral pic yesterday of black kids being seated away from white kids DID NOT tell the whole story. The pic was taken at a specific moment and out of context because the kids rotated in groups throughout the period."
And indeed the children can now be seen playing together as can be expected. However, people responding to the post felt that the new images were damage control and not a true representation of what had happened.
