One of the more surprising January transfer reports relating to Liverpool emerged on Monday as the club were linked with a swoop for former youth star Conor Coady.

Coady, who is now captain and star man at Wolves, has been mightily impressive upon his return to the Premier League, with the 25-year-old being an ever-present for the newly-promoted side this season.

The Daily Mail report that the Reds have been monitoring the Liverpool-born centre-back, who came through their academy before leaving in 2014.
