Parts of Australia’s south-east are sweltering through an extreme heatwave with New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory experiencing their hottest weather in a decade. Victoria has also been gripped by the heatwave, with Mildura reaching 45 and Melbourne’s CBD climbing past 30. Authorities have urged people to look after the elderly and vulnerable during the extreme heat conditions.
