Victoria Police faked almost 260,000 breath tests to keep up with ‘unrealistic’ targets imposed on catching drink-drivers, according to a report by Chief Commissioner Neil Comrie. With a target of uncovering no more than one drink-driver per 200 tests, officers had been blowing into breathalysers for almost six years to create readings with zero alcohol content.
