Serge Aurier arrested, released on suspicion of domestic violence

Aurier was apparently arrested and released by Hertfordshire police ahead of Sunday’s match against Manchester United. Serious allegations were leveled at a member of Tottenham Hotspur’s first team today. A major British tabloid is reporting that Spurs right back Serge Aurier was arrested this past weekend by Hertfordshire police officers on suspicion of domestic battery.

Hertfordshire police made the following statement: “A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of [actual bodily harm]. He has been released with no further action.”

A Tottenham spokesperson also made a brief statement, but did not confirm any details: “We are aware of an incident concerning Serge Aurier this weekend.”
