Dankwambo's aides dump PDP for APC, blames governor for neglecting them

Four aides of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe state have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Legit.ng gathers that Abdul-Garba Tallasse, a special adviser to the governor, and three senior special assistants to Governor Dankwambo; Ubayo Danzaria Kedengs, Bakoji G. Gayus and Ado Umar.

Daily Trust reports that the aides, in their resignation letters, claimed that their defection is due to lack of recognition on the part of the governor and neglecting people of Gombe South, despite giving him massive support in 2015.
The aides who are from Gombe south senatorial district of the state, also accused Dankwambo of not paying gratuities to retired civil servants “with bulk of them from Gombe-South.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the northeast director general of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential campaign council, Senator Saidu Umar Kumo, has confirmed his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Kumo who was a stalwart of the PDP in the region and a staunch supporter of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, confirmed his defection in a telephone interview with newsmen in Gombe on Tuesday, January 15.
