President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly to request the confirmation of some fresh appointments.
The president is asking the lawmakers to confirm the appointment of the director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, as well as the chairman and members of the North East Development Commission.

During the Wednesday, January 16 plenary, Senate President Bukola Saraki read the letter from President Buhari seeking the confirmation of the appointments of Modibbo Hamman-Tukur as director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) expressed confidence that the appointment of Adamu Abubakar Mohammed as acting Inspector General of Police is pleasant saying it would bring professionalism and true leadership to policing in the country.

NGF in a statement by Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, head, media and public affairs, said the new IGP had personal accomplishments, having occupied the office of the director of peace keeping operations and other positions.
