What will happen to non-performing NASS lawmakers in Buhari's state - Masari reveals
- The governor of Katsina, Aminu Masari, on Tuesday, January 15, revealed the fate of under-performing lawmakers at the state Assembly
- Governor Masari, during his campaign rally in the Kaita area of the state said that such legislators will be recalled
- He further said that the delay witnessed in the National Assembly would not be allowed to happen in the next tenure
Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina state has said that non-performing National Assembly legislators from the state will in the next dispensation be made to face recall by the electorate.
Masari stated this during his re-election campaign in Kaita on Tuesday, January 15. He, however, expressed optimism that APC candidates would perform credibly, but that non-performing national legislators would be subjected to the recall process, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

He further said that the foot-dragging witnessed in the National Assembly would not be allowed to happen in the next tenure.
“Unnecessary delays in passage of appropriation bill and confirmation of appointments sent by the President will not be allowed to happen again,” he said.
Masari urged the people of the state to vote APC candidates at all levels during the forthcoming general elections. He said that his administration had executed development projects across the state.
“The electorate should reciprocate that through massive voting all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections,” he said.

The APC chairman in the state, Alhaji Shittu S. Shitu, received some members of Kwankwasiyya Movement in the state led by their leader, Alhaji Inusa Abdullahi Dankama, at the occasion.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that no fewer than 2,800 members of the PDP in Madobi, Daura in Katsina state defected to the APC.
The defectors were received into the APC fold in Madobi village on Monday, January 7, by the Daura local government party chairman, Alhaji Sani Altine-Daura.
The chairman assured the new members of equal treatment and promised to carry everybody along in the party activities, devoid of any other considerations.
