Just in: During my tenure I tried my best - IGP Idris

The immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, while handling over to his predecessor, IGP Adamu Mohammed, has said he tried his best during his tenure as the leader of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Former IGP Idris made the statement at the Force Headquarters Abuja at about 11.18am during a very brief handing over ceremony to the new IGP Adamu Mohammed, Independent reports.

Idris who thanked other his deputies and other officers for “dedication to Nigeria," said his team work hard.

Idris said: “During my tenure we tried our best.”

The official handover was held at the police headquarters, Abuja at a brief ceremony on Wednesday, January 16.

Adamu's appointment means he is the 20th indigenous IGP Nigeria has had.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the new inspector general of police, Adamu Mohammed, appointed Frank Mba as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police.

Mba studied law at the University of Lagos, and was called to the Nigerian bar in 2002.

The police spokesman, who hails from Ezimo in Udenu local government area of Enugu state, was the best graduating cadet inspector in academics at the Police Academy, Kano, in 1993.
