Bipartisan Group Of House Members Will Meet With Trump To Chat Shutdown Stalemate
A bipartisan group of House members will meet with President Trump in the Situation Room on Wednesday to attempt to hash out a compromise on the government shutdown, Politico reported.

The group are members of the Problem Solvers Caucus. The hope is that Trump can be convinced to open up the government and support an immigration reform package that would include funding for border security as well as policy that protects young immigrants and those in the U.S. under Temporary Protect Status.
According to a person familiar with the discussions who spoke to Politico, a bipartisan group of senators are also in talks about sending Trump a letter, promising to compromise on border security once the government reopens. But few lawmakers think the bipartisan efforts will gain much traction with Trump whose hard-line position is what ignited the shutdown to begin with.
